The next morning Axl woke with a start. Because Krystal wasn’t with him. He looked around, franticly. Then he saw standing on the end of her bed, staring out of the window. He walked over to her. “You alright?” he asked.

As the pair of them walked back into the town, people threw looks at Krystal, just as they had at Estella, except that she was so used to it she completely ignored them. She felt Axls grip tighten on her hand and she felt reassured. She felt that as long as she was with Axl, the pair of them together were invincible. Together they walked down the main street and into the garment shop at the end. At first the shop keeper had been reluctant to serve them, but after axl had deposited a tidy sum of gold on the counter, his attitude changed completely. A while later the 4 of them were standing in the crimson, dusk light. It had been a little hairy when they remembered that the rope has been cut. In the end it had been more luck then anything that saved them. Axl had tired a loop in the end and had been trying to hook it around one of the rocks around the hole. Somehow it had managed to grab hold on a solid one spike of stone. Axl had gone up first to make sure it was strong enough. Then Maria had climbed up after him. “Is this it” he said. The “cave” wasn’t even a cave. It was a small indentation in the side of a rocky hill.
